One of the most common New England indoor pests, Carpenter Ants are identified as large red or black ants that construct their nests in moist wood, potentially causing home damage.

Pests Covered Under the Home Protection Plan:

Carpenter Ants

Sugar Ants
As their name suggests, sugar ants are attracted to all things sweet. If these tiny ants get into your home, they can be tough to remove, so be sure to call an expert immediately.

Pavement Ants
Pavement ants build their homes under patios, driveways, sidewalks, and foundations. While mostly harmless, they do have tiny stingers that can cause mild discomfort to human skin.

Other Native Ants
Acrobat Ants and Odorous House Ants are other native ants found in New England. No matter the type, ant infestations can become overwhelming quickly, so be sure to seek help ASAP.

Spiders
Spiders are typically attracted to moist areas within your home, and while they may try to bite in defense when threatened, they are usually indifferent towards humans.

Silverfish
Silverfish prefer dank and dark areas of your home, such as basements, kitchens, and bathrooms. While they do not bite, they can cause allergic reactions and attract other insects.

Centipedes
With their long, flat bodies, house centipedes are some of the creepiest and fastest pests in New England. Bites are rare, but centipedes can quickly become a household nuisance.

Millipedes
Millipedes can enter the home through basement doors, windows, and crawl space vents. They tend not to bite, but they can release defensive fluid that can be harmful or toxic to human skin.

Cockroaches
Cockroaches are usually about two inches in length and enter the home via cracks, doorways, drains, or even sewer pipes. Cockroach infestations are stubborn and often require expert help.

Mice
As the mice population grows in New England, it’s essential to keep these pesky rodents away from your property as they can carry disease and repopulate quickly inside of your home.

Exterior Wasp/ Yellow Jacket/ Hornet Nests up to 20 feet:
Wasp, hornet, and yellow jacket nests can be a threat to your property and you and your family’s safety. You’ll want to keep your property nest-free at least 20 feet away from your home.
